Firm vows to feature more Emirati TV serials soon

DUBAI: Two television series produced by Abbey’s Productions continue to achieve consecutive successes besides being admired and watched by millions of viewers around the Arab world. The firm topped the race this year during Ramadan through the much-loved TV serials ‘Manzel 12’ and ‘Saqata Sahwan’.

Sheikha Abrar Khaled Al-Sabah, Chairperson of the Board of Directors of Abbey’s Productions while responding to Gulf Today said, “According to the latest statistics, both recent series were telecast through Abu Dhabi Media and the Shahid platforms in the UAE. The number of views on all of our productions crossed over three million.”

Responding to a question, she said, “We have previously produced several local Emirati series, and many famous Emirati stars participated in them. We also have upcoming projects that bear the popular Emirati character, especially in terms of comedy.”

Garnering premium and advanced positions on global digital platforms and on GCC and Arab TV stations via broadcast, ‘Manzel 12’ starred many popular regional actors and presented a dramatised social concern within an exciting storyline. ‘Saqata Sahwan’ also achieved a notable position among the most watched series on social media, dealing with societal realities in light-hearted, comic context via another stellar performance by its cast.

Sheikha Abrar established Abbey’s Productions in 2019 in Kuwait, commenting, “The company aims to produce works for television that achieve a positive impact on viewers by presenting realistic content reflecting life in the Arabian Gulf and formulating it in a thoughtful outline using innovative technology and tools in television production.
