Bollywood actress Shraddha Kapoor on Saturday took to social media, and gave her fans a glimpse into her weekend by sharing a sneak peek of her song playlist. Taking to Instagram Stories, the actress shared a snapshot of her playlist, which was the popular track by Zubeen Garg “Ya Ali.” The song is from the 2006 romantic thriller film “Gangster: A love story’, starring Emraan Hashmi, Kangana Ranaut and Shiney Ahuja in the lead.
The flick was directed by Anurag Basu, and produced by Mahesh Bhatt and Mukesh Bhatt. Sharing the photo of the song, Shraddha wrote: “Some songs just have a different kind of magic!!!,” followed with red heart emojis. On the work front, Shraddha will be next seen in the highly-anticipated “Stree 2” starring Rajkummar Rao, which is the sequel to the sleeper hit “Stree.” The first instalment “Stree” had garnered critical acclaim and became a surprise box-office success, leaving audiences eagerly anticipating the next chapter in the franchise.
Directed by Amar Kaushik, produced by Jio Studios and Dinesh Vijan, it also stars Pankaj Tripathi, Aparshakti Khurrana and Abhishek Banerjee. Shraddha was last seen in romantic comedy “Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar,” opposite Ranbir Kapoor. The highly-anticipated “Stree 2” starring Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao, which is the sequel to the sleeper hit “Stree,” has been making waves among fans since its announcement. Recently, the makers officially announced the commencement of the “Stree 2” shoot, along with releasing the theme of the movie. But, unlike the prequel, which had a message “O stree kal aana,” it has been replaced with “O stree raksha karna.”
The spooky video released by the makers shows a dark quiet road of Chanderi in Madhya Pradesh, with a poster on the wall saying “missing” and some photos attached with it. Then, it displays the theme — “sarkate ka aatank” (headless horror — with the shadow of a hand holding a head, as the backdrop. Along with the video, the makers wrote, “Ek baar phir Chanderi mein phaila aatank! Stree 2 filming begins! Aa rahi hai woh — August 2024!” The announcement left fans in an instant frenzy and the comment section was flooded with love and excitement.
Shraddha began her acting career with a brief role in the 2010 heist film “Teen Patti,” and followed it with her first leading role in the teen drama “Luv Ka The End” (2011). she had her breakthrough playing a singer in the commercially successful romantic musical “Aashiqui 2” (2013). The following year, she portrayed a character based on Ophelia in Vishal Bhardwaj’s highly acclaimed ensemble drama “Haider” (2014).
Shraddha established herself with starring roles in the romantic thriller “Ek Villain” (2014), the dance drama “ABCD 2” (2015) and the action film “Baaghi” (2016). Following a series of poorly-received films, her highest-grossing releases came with the comedy horror “Stree” (2018), the action thriller “Saaho” (2019), the comedy drama “Chhichhore” (2019), and the romantic comedy “Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar” (2023).
