OTT reinforces the importance of content, says Aditi Rao Hydari

Actress Aditi Rao Hydari, who is known for her work in “Delhi 6,” “Jubilee,” “Bhoomi,” “Taj: Divided By Blood,” and several others, feels that the medium of OTT reinforces the importance of content and gives a lot of creative liberty to artistes. Aditi won hearts for her performance as Anarkali in the period drama “Taj: Divided By Blood.”

The actress recently visited the Middle East and interacted with her fans in Qatar, Dubai, and Abu Dhabi, at exclusive meet and greets. Sharing her experience of playing the iconic character, Aditi said: “The one thing I really enjoy about the OTT medium is that it offers more artistic creativity for writers, actors, and directors. It reinforces the importance of content, and that is why I decided to work on Taj: Divided By Blood.”

The star, who has been compared to the legendry actor Madhubala for her role as Anarkali, also mentioned that she knew “those are big shoes to fill” while signing up for it. Riding the wave of her success in Taj, the actress delighted consumers at ZEE5 Global’s first Qatar fan meet and greet at LuLu Hypermarket in Barwa City. In her maiden visit to Qatar, the actress enthralled the audience by singing the popular Malayalam song “Vathikkalu Vellaripravu” and interacted with the crowd through activities like quizzes and dance performances.

The star currently has an exciting library of titles on ZEE5 Global that includes movies like romance drama, “Daas Dev,” Malayalam thriller “Psycho,” and the Ranbir Kapoor-starrer tragedy romance “Rockstar.”

Meanwhile, Aditi, who was recently seen in the second season of the streaming show “Taj,” and “Rang De Basanti” actor Siddharth, who are rumoured to be dating, had vacation in Rajasthan recently. Actress-turned-politician Bina Kak took to her Instagram recently and dropped a few pictures with Aditi and Siddharth.  Along with the pictures, Bina wrote, “Happiest when the children visit me at home.”

In the first photo, Aditi sat on the stairs while Bina posed near her. A dog was also seen in the frame with them. In the picture, Aditi wore a black and white T-shirt, blue denims and sneakers. Bina was seen in an all-white outfit. The second picture has Aditi, Siddharth and Bina posing for the camera. There have been speculations around Aditi and Siddharth dating each other as they are often spotted together. However, they haven’t confirmed or denied the reports of them dating.  The two actors met while working on the Telugu film “Maha Samudram” in 2021. Aditi made her film debut with the Malayalam film “Prajapathi” (2006).

She went on to have supporting roles in several Hindi films, including the musical drama “Rockstar” (2011), the horror film “Murder 3” (2013), the thriller “Wazir” (2016), and the period film “Padmaavat” (2018). Hydari made her Tamil film debut with Mani Ratnam’s “Kaatru Veliyidai” (2017), for which she won the SIIMA Award for Best Debut Actress — Tamil.  She received a nomination for the Filmfare Award for Best Actress — Telugu for her starring role in “Sammohanam” (2018)
