Child actor Suhani Bhatnagar, who essayed the role of young Babita Phogat in the Aamir Khan-starrer ‘Dangal’ in 2016, has passed away. She was 19.
According to media reports doing the rounds, Suhani was battling an illness.
It was reported that Suhani was undergoing treatment at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in the national capital after she was battling an illness caused due to a reaction from medication.
She was getting treated for fluid accumulation in her body.
According to reports, her final rites will be taking place in Faridabad’s Ajronda crematorium.
Reacting instantly to the news, Aamir Khan Productions took to social media to express the actor's heartfelt condolences.
"We are deeply saddened to hear about our Suhani passing away," said the statement. "Our heartfelt condolences to her mother Poojaji, and the entire family. Such a talented young girl, such a team player, 'Dangal' would have been incomplete without Suhani."
It concluding by saying: "Suhani, you will always remain a star in our hearts. May you rest in peace."
'Dangal' director Nitesh Tiwari has expressed shock at the sudden demise of Suhani Bhatnagar.
He said the news is heartbreaking, adding that "she was such a happy soul."
Expressing shock over the loss of the young actress, who appeared in ad commercials before choosing to focus on studies, Tiwari said: "Suhani's passing away is absolutely shocking and heartbreaking. She was such a happy soul, so full of life. My deepest condolences to her family."
