Bollywood actress Taapsee Pannu, who is known for “Baby,” “Pink,” “Manmarziyaan” and others, has married her long-term boyfriend, Mathias Boe. The two reportedly tied the nuptial knot in Udaipur on Saturday. As per media reports, the ceremonies began on Wednesday. Their families and close friends attended the ceremony. Actor Pavail Gulati, who has worked with Taapsee in “Thappad” and “Dobaara” joined the wedding celebrations along with auteur Anurag Kashyap, who is also Taapsee’s good friend. Screenwriting couple Kanika Dhillon and Himanshu Sharma were also at the event. However, her representatives didn’t give any official confirmation when IANS reached out to them. In fact, Mathias even attended the roast of Taapsee on her birthday, last year. Taapsee and Mathias have been dating for over a decade now. Mathias, who hails from Denmark, is a badminton player-turned coach. He made his international debut in 1998. He rose to world number 1 in doubles and currently coaches the Indian team in doubles. He won the men’s doubles silver medal at the 2012 Olympics in London, and a silver at the 2013 World Championship. Taapsee and Mathias reportedly started dating around her Bollywood debut in 2013.
Meanwhile, Taapsee made her debut as a producer with horror-thriller “Blurr” (2022) that she co-produced via her Outsiders Films. The company’s next, “Dhak Dhak,” which follows four women who set out for a road trip to the highest motorable pass in the world on a motorbike journey of self-discovery, went on theatrical release on Oct. 13. While “Blurr” starred Pannu, “Dhak Dhak” sees her serving as a producer only and stars Ratna Pathak Shah, Dia Mirza, Fatima Sana Sheikh and Sanjana Sanghi. “Dhak Dhak” was produced by Outsiders, Viacom 18 Motion Pictures, BLM Pictures and One India Stories.
Taapsee has received several awards, including two Filmfare Awards and a Filmfare OTT Award.
After a brief modelling career, she made her acting debut with the 2010 Telugu film “Jhummandi Naadam” and went on to act in the 2011 Tamil film “Aadukalam.” She made her Hindi film debut with David Dhawan’s comedy “Chashme Baddoor” (2013). After playing the leading lady in several Telugu and Tamil films, Pannu gained notice for her performances in the Hindi spy thriller “Baby” (2015) and the courtroom drama Pink (2016), both of which were critical and commercial successes.
For portraying the septuagenarian sharpshooter Prakashi Tomar in the biopic “Saand Ki Aankh” (2019), she won the Filmfare Award for Best Actress (Critics), and for playing a homemaker going through a divorce in Anubhav Sinha’s social drama “Thappad” (2020), she won the Filmfare Award for Best Actress.
She has since starred in the streaming films “Haseen Dillruba” (2021), “Rashmi Rocket” (2021), and “Looop Lapeta” (2022). Pannu had her highest-grossing release in the comedy-drama “Dunki” (2023).
