Actress Kalki Koechlin, who has started shooting for her next project, “Her Song,” lost her luggage while en route to the shoot location in France. A source close to the actress told IANS that for the first three days of filming, Kalki had to rely on the kindness of her co-actor, Elea Clair, as she borrowed her clothes to get by. The situation was made even more difficult by the weather. During those initial days, the temperature was a chilly 10 degrees Celsius, and Kalki didn’t have any of her warm clothes. When her luggage finally arrived, the weather underwent a complete shift, soaring to a sunny 30 degrees Celsius, rendering her warm clothes entirely useless. This is not the first time the actress has found herself in such a predicament — losing luggage seems to be a recurrent issue during her travels. Despite these laughable setbacks, Kalki kept her spirits high and her sense of humour intact. In “Her Song,” Kalki will be seen playing Olivia, a witty American-French writer. With her trademark charm and wit, Kalki is set to bring Olivia to life in a way that only she can.
Talking about her role, Kalki had earlier told IANS: “Olivia is an intellectual from New York with roots in France who returns to write her grandmother’s story. She finds herself half reliving the past and half predicting the future as the Covid pandemic hits the world.”
She further mentioned that the film is a comedy about how patterns can be read out of practically anything and how we see ourselves as somehow responsible for the way the world works.
“The challenge of playing a self-deprecating American writer who begins to feel like she’s affecting the world around her with every word she writes is fun and daunting,” she added. Meanwhile, Kalki, who was recently seen in the streaming movie “Kho Gaye Hum Kahan,” is set to star in the upcoming Tamil film “Nesippaya.” The actress will play the role of Indira, a lawyer based in Portugal who plays a pivotal role in the narrative. While she made her foray into Tamil cinema with a cameo in “Nerkonda Paarvai” starring Ajith Kumar, this film sees her in a full-fledged role. “Nesippaya” is a romantic drama and promises that Kalki’s role will be as intriguing and multifaceted as her previous roles, adding a new dimension to her already impressive repertoire. Acclaimed filmmaker Vishnuvardhan marks his return to Tamil cinema with this project. Known for his compelling storytelling and cinematic vision, his comeback is highly anticipated. The film also stars Akash Murali, who debuts as the lead, while Aditi Shankar plays the female lead. Kalki made her Bollywood debut in the black comedy-drama “Dev.D” (2009). She starred in “Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara” (2011) and “Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani” (2013). Then came “Ek Thi Daayan” (2013) and the musical drama “Gully Boy” (2019). In 2022, Kalki starred in the English-language drama “Goldfish.”
