InClassica festival dedicated to composer Alexey Shor’s 55th anniversary at Dubai Opera, April 2025

The 14th edition of the renowned InClassica International Music Festival returns to Dubai Opera once more in April 2025, with organisers SAMIT Event Group presenting a special edition of the festival that will be marking and honouring the 55th birthday of acclaimed contemporary American composer Alexey Shor.
Globally hailed as one of the world’s foremost classical music festivals, InClassica shall be bringing the biggest stars of our time to Dubai’s most spectacular venue, as they look to pay homage to the masters of the past, while celebrating one of the great composers of our own era. In fact, classical music lovers can look forward to no less than a two-week celebration of musical excellence, with compositions ranging all the way from the baroque right up to the contemporary.
Deservedly so, it will be Alexey Shor himself, the dedicatee of this latest iteration and a talent who has enjoyed a long and prosperous relationship with InClassica, who will be taking on the role of Composer-in-Residence for this edition, with many of his treasured compositions set to feature in the festival’s eclectic programme.
In all, there will be a total of 16 concerts presented from the 6th to the 21st of April, featuring the Tokyo Philharmonic Orchestra and Franz Schubert Filharmonia (Spain), as well as an astonishing 13 award-winning soloists and 5 distinguished conductors.
These include such revered names as violinists Maxim Vengerov (Monaco), Daniel Lozakovich (Sweden), María Dueñas (Spain) Gil Shaham (USA), Fumiaki Miura (Japan), and Giuseppe Gibboni (Italy); pianist Mikhail Pletnev (Switzerland); violist David Aaron Carpenter (USA); French cellists Edgar Moreau and Gautier Capuçon; and conductors Lionel Bringuier (France), Andrea Battistoni (Italy), and Tomàs Grau (Spain), among many, many others.
Meanwhile, with ticket sales for InClassica 2025 already well underway, the festival’s president, Konstantin Ishkhanov, spoke of his enthusiasm for this 14th special edition, as he noted how the festival has continued to grow from strength to strength across its rich history:
