Under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Hamad Bin Mohammed Al Sharqi, Crown Prince of Fujairah, the first edition of Fujairah Children's Book Fair was officially opened by Dr Sheikh Rashid Bin Hamad Al Sharqi, Chairman of the Fujairah Culture and Media Authority.
Sheikh Abdullah Bin Hamad Bin Saif Al Sharqi, President of the UAE Bodybuilding and Fitness Federation, also attended the launch of the fair, held at the Al Bayt Mitwahid Hall in Fujairah.
During the inaugural ceremony, Sheikh Rashid emphasised the importance of children's literature in society and the necessity of nurturing it. He highlighted the role of book fairs and cultural initiatives in enhancing children's awareness and imagination.

He also underlined the Fujairah government's commitment to cultural development, aligning with the vision of Sheikh Hamad Bin Mohammed Al Sharqi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Fujairah, which aims to promote knowledge and enhance the reading culture through sustainable projects.
Sheikh Rashid also toured the exhibition, visiting the booths of various publishing houses and engaging with cultural and artistic institutions involved in the fair's activities.
During the opening ceremony, Nasser Al Yamahi, Executive Director of the Fujairah Culture and Media Authority, announced the launch of the Upcoming Author competition to encourage young writers.
The fair features a variety of interactive workshops in Arabic and English aimed at stimulating children's creativity and language skills. It also includes storytelling sessions and discussions with prominent children's authors.
The fair will run until Oct.19, hosting various activities designed to inspire and educate young minds at the Al Bayt Mitwahid Hall in Fujairah.
