Indian fashion designer Masaba Gupta, daughter of the legendary cricketer Vivian Richards and actress Neena Gupta, and stylist Rhea Kapoor, sister of fashion icon and Bollywood star Sonam Kapoor and daughter of evergreen actor Anil Kapoor, have bonded together to create an exclusive range titled “The Chronicles of Femininity”.
The line was created to redefine and rebrand the concept of femininity for the modern woman. The collection is brought to life using fabrics like organza, silk, crepe, and net showcasing experimental and flirty silhouettes designed to keep everybody type in mind.
Gupta returns to Dubai to showcase her beautiful exclusive and limited-edition collection for local audiences to get the chance to see her and Rhea Kapoor’s work.
The collection offers a wide range of options such as romantic tie-up blouses, concept sarees and lehengas with blazers. House of Masaba is known to be synonymous with being bold and quirky. A nostalgic route is taken in this collection with prints like roses and daisies representing a one of a kind love that has somehow vanished from the face of the earth; postcards and lost letters from the archives of romance, and checks that balance the pretty with the powerful perfectly.
How many fashion designers would use an ordinary safety pin as an embellished statement piece? House of Masaba has done just that – utilising it to save a sari draping meltdown or to secure a skirt.
The two designers were inspired to create this collection to incorporate their own shared philosophies of embracing one’s authentic self unapologetically. They understand that the modern-day woman no longer has to fit into society’s conventional beauty standards and wanted to create a collection where women could still feel confident no matter what style they are going for.
