It is day unknown of self-isolation for a lot of people in different parts of the world. As at 4:37pm today, 549, 600 plus cases of Covid-19 and 24,800 deaths have been recorded globally.
The positive cases keep increasing and the deaths are now like midnight snacks, we wait for the numbers at the end of the day. Every time someone test positive or dies, there is a little voice in my head that goes, I might be next.
“Life is full of uncertainties,” it is a saying we have heard countless times. But it has never hit me hard till the advent of Covid-19.

As an essential worker, every day I leave my house there is a fear at the back of my mind that today might be the day I will get infected.
When we survive coronavirus, one thing you should take away from it is that nothing matters if you are not alive. Covid-19 is a wake-up call to live your life to the fullest.
Coronavirus has put things in perspective for me, it has made me understand that life is uncertain, so, you might as well just take that leap of faith. Holding onto fear is synonymous to being alive but not living. Every risk is worth taking as long as it won’t be the end of your life. Love is worth trying and healing is very important for your sanity.
In my two decades alive, never has anything put the world completely on standstill. Whether a developed nation or a developing one, a rich individual that can afford any health care or a financially disadvantaged person, everyone is at risk. This shows that when it comes to being alive your status and whatever you have is not enough to protect you. Ultimately we are all humans and we are all equal.

The numbers keep increasing every blessed day, the obituary spreads in newspapers have gone from two pages to six pages plus. No one knows who is next, therefore as you isolate and practice social – distancing, don’t forget to keep in touch with your loved ones. Take all the rest you need and start planning on doing things you have always wanted to do.
Most importantly don’t forget to wash your hands, sanitize your hands and your surroundings and avoid touching your face.
