A video of a doctor in scrubs dancing the salsa has raked in thousands of views after it was shared on a social media platform.
Jason L. Campbell, a physician resident at Oregon Health & Science University in Portland, Oregon, posted the video on his Instagram page.
It was captioned, “Calling all the real dancers... it’s time to salsa! Where are all my Mexican Americans, Cuban Americans, Latin Americans? You, too, are America!
“Ladies and gents, let me introduce Dr. Lorna Michele Noles, who has a few moves of her own to share with you. She is one female Mexican American Faculty Anaesthesiologist here at OHSU Anaesthesia in a department that is 50 % female (the average department is 33%).
“Furthermore, our diversity here @ohsunews Anaesthesiology — 17%. We walk the walk, talk the talk y bailar como ningun otro (and dance like no other).”
A graduate of Ohio State University College of Medicine, Dr. Campbell is a growing community activist.
He is a native of Washington DC. Since his arrival in Portland, Oregon, he has worked to increase the number of black men entering medicine and anaesthesiology.
In an exclusive interview to Gulf Today, Dr. Campbell said, “I wanted to celebrate Latinos and Latinas and the diversity that my co-workers and I share, in this video is Dr. Lorna Michele Noles, who is a faculty anaesthesiologist.”
