Michelle Obama said she felt a 'newfound sense of gratitude for all the little moments' in her Easter message.
On Sunday, the former first lady took to Instagram to share pictures of her family’s time at the White House celebrating Easter and Passover.
In the first photo, Michelle, Barack and their daughters Sasha and Malia can be seen smiling from the White House balcony next to the Easter Bunny during a previous White House Easter Egg Roll, while the second picture sees them reading children’s books during the Easter celebration.
The third photo is another throwback, showing the family sitting down to a Passover dinner.
“As many of us celebrate Easter and Passover during this time of physical distancing, I know that we may be missing the togetherness and traditions we’ve shared in years past,” Ms Obama captioned the photos.
“This year, I’ve been feeling a newfound sense of gratitude for all the little moments I used to take for granted.”
In the post, Ms Obama also asked her followers which holiday traditions are their favourite, and how they would be celebrating them during these unprecedented times.
“I know so many of you are also trying your best to make new memories, like attending church online or sharing Sunday dinner over video chat with your relatives,” she continued. “What are your favourite Easter or Passover traditions and how do you plan on keeping them alive this year?”
Former president Barack also shared an Easter message on social media, where he posted a photo of the family from when Sasha and Malia were young with the caption: “Although our celebrations may look different this year, our unwavering faith remains the same.
