Just like many parts of the world, UAE residents faced lockdown due to COVID-19 outbreak, which is put in place to curb the spread. Many are following the strict guidelines to ensure they and their loved ones remain safe and healthy.
The lockdown manifested during two important events for many Muslims living in the UAE, which was the holy month of Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr. Both events sparked creativity and ensured a way of staying connected.
Delivery services became the go-to service many relied on to indulge themselves and to send to their family and friends to be able to experience the connection Ramadan usually brings.
During Eid al-Fitr, many families, mine included, decided to schedule a virtual meeting call for the whole family to be able to see each other and to feel some of the Eid excitements.
Residents have taken to using video calling apps to stay connected with loved ones.
For a time like this truly it’s the thought that counts. Residents are putting in efforts to deal with the issue in a not so conventional way by enjoying each other’s company from afar.
Additionally, UAE residents have become more creative in celebrating their loved ones during the lockdown, whether it’s a birthday, graduation, anniversary, or even a promotion.
In an attempt to not be left out of various celebrations, people drive and parade for their loved ones in hopes of making it a special celebration.

Many are looking for businesses that cater to special occasions to help elevate the unique change to everyone.
Various businesses are accommodating their customers’ needs by allowing delivery even if it is a new step to their business as well.
Supporting local businesses during this time is crucial because the chain of workers involved require doing a service in order to sustain a living, even during lockdown when the rest of the UAE residents are working from home.
Though lockdown may seem like a negative thing, in reality, it is a change that many became accustomed to immediately, and tried making the best of it.
What determines a new switch is a way the issue is dealt with, rather than merely just perceiving it. Yes, it is unique in nature, but on a brighter note, many are finding innovative ways to find bliss and remain connected.
