You might have seen turtles of green and brown shades, but not bright as yellow.
An unusual, rare bright yellow version of the albino Indian flapshell turtle was spotted and rescued from a pond in Burdwan, West Bengal.
The glossy turtle looks more like an egg yolk.
The peculiar yellow colour may be because of either some genetic mutation or congenital disorder due to the absence of tyrosine pigment.
While it’s not something you see every day, people were amazed because of its color, hilariously comparing it to cheese and mango jelly.
Earlier a similar coloured flapshells was found in Balasore, Odisha.

According to the wildlife authorities, it is still not clear whether it is a new species, albinism, or mutant albino.
People are in awe of what was a rare sight to them.
The official tweet by Indian Forest Officer, Debashish Sharma, garnered 76,000 likes and many retweets with loads of comments.
“So beautiful and unique. Such smooth skin I guess on top it’s slippery and glossy as per the photo. Is it ?” replied a user.
Another user commented, Wow… this is the first time I am seeing this colour. Beautiful it is.”
“Who let the mango jelly out,” read a hilarious comment.
