Created under the theme of ‘Memories of Jumeirah,’ a series of art sculptures have been installed along Jumeirah road to honour Dubai's heritage.
The initiative celebrates the spirit of one of the most prominent neighbourhoods.
Developed by international artists, the artworks have been installed in select bus stops along Jumeirah Road stretching from the Dubai Canal to Jumeirah Al Naseem.
Sculptures made in the shape of chicks, a gang of giant robots, a giant cassette player, and a swarm of giant jellyfish – these are just some of the artworks installed.
'Paper' boat made of marble and metal cans is one of the artworks at Jumeirah road.
The installations are designed to appeal to all age groups, communities and add beauty and colour to the streets of Dubai.
The Jumeirah Project further aims at raising the neighbourhood's profile as a cultural hub in line with the vision of the Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum.
One of the artworks is titled as 'Pink Flamingo.'
Brand Dubai recently activated a brand identity campaign for Jumeirah that highlights its unique character as a destination that offers diverse creative, aesthetic, and social experiences for residents and visitors.
Shaima Al Suwaidi, City Branding Manager of Brand Dubai said, “The launch of the second phase of the Jumeira Project contributes to realising the broader vision to transform Dubai into an open-air museum that celebrates creativity and aesthetic excellence. The art experiences support the effort to create a vibrant new creative ambiance in the neighbourhood while portraying its distinctive heritage, modernity, and innovative spirit.”

“The art experiences at the bus stops take viewers on a unique storytelling experience by highlighting memories from Jumeirah’s past. The unique installations enrich public spaces in Jumeira and provide residents and visitors to engage with art and creativity,” Al Suwaidi noted.
Some of the artworks evoke nostalgia for Dubai’s past while others celebrate its futuristic aspirations. One of the artworks is titled 'Pink Flamingo' inspired by the shapes of colorful floaters commonly found in small shops across Jumeira Road. Another installation features a Jellyfish, a sea animal abundantly found in Jumeira beach waters during the summer.
Other installations feature a cassette player and various other artworks.
Other installations featuring colorful chicks, a cassette player, and a Teela, a glass ball similar to a marble used by Emirati children to play a popular traditional game, reconnect people with their childhood.
