Sharing a video of herself on Instagram, the “Baaji” star captioned it, Dedicated to the “Bharam culture.”
The video shows the celebrity being stopped by a traffic policeman, played by actor Humayun, who tells her, “You have broken the signal, there will be fine, give me your licence.”
She wrote in a caption, “I don’t know about the other cities out there, but I’d venture to say they hold a lot more respect for their traffic police than we do. This absurd culture of exercising “power” to get away from taking responsibility is out of fashion so it ain’t cool no more!"
She further wrote, #respect #law #trafficpolice.
Amna Ilyas is a Pakistani film and television actress and model. She began her modelling career at 20 in 2007.
She has won the Best Dressed Female Award at the 11th Lux Style Awards and Best Female Model at the 14th Lux Style Awards.
She is better known for her leading roles in several films, including “Zinda Bhaag,” Good Morning Karachi,” “Baaji” and “Ready Steady No.”
Amna often uses her social media platform to highlight issues she feels strongly about, as last year she asked her fellow celebrities to stop promoting fairness creams.
"My fellow colleagues in the industry, time for promoting fairness creams for the sake of money and greed has long passed," she schooled, careful to not take names.
"Our influence as public figures is meant to make others feel beautiful, not less beautiful. Shame on everyone who still subscribes to this way of thinking! #endcolourism."
She posted her photo on Instagram and wrote, “My dark skin won’t be the reason I fall. No matter the shackles of colonisation or the micro-aggressions, I’ll set my goals and achieve them all.”
