A 12-year-old boy found a historical sword dating back to the 16th century while walking in a forest, a museum in the German state of Bavaria announced.
According to the museum, the boy found the sword in a forest near the village of Ederheim.
His family reported to the State Office of Historic Preservation.

The authorities preserved the more than 400-year-old sword in the museum.
After experts identified the sword as dating back to the 16th century, the precious find is now on display in the city museum in the historic Bavarian town of Neuerdlingen.
The authorities allowed the student who found the sword to enter the museum free of charge.
