Gold coin worth $98,000 found from the most valuable shipwreck

A diver and treasure hunter have found a rare gold coin from the wreck of the Nuestra Señora de Atocha ship off the shores of the Florida Keys.

The ship was wrecked in 1622 by a hurricane. It carried 40 tonnes of gold and silver, and 70 pounds of emeralds, valued at about $400 million.
Only five of the ship's 265 crew survived, including three sailors and two slaves, who escaped before it sank.
In 2011, divers found a golden ring with an emerald stone, valued at $500,000. They found 40 pieces in 2015, which were sold at a public auction.
These included money, gold bars, and a cross studded with emeralds.
Engineer Zack Moore discovered the gold coin 30 feet deep in water. It is the 121st coin found from the wreck since 2001. It is valued at $98,000.
Moore was a member of the Mel Fisher Company’s JB Magruder rescue ship which discovered the Nuestra de Atocha in 1985.
Its wreck is considered the most valuable in the world, according to the Guinness Book of World Records in 2014.
