In a shocking incident a lake in Argentina turned bright pink due to excess of chemicals polluting the area.
The lagoon in the southern Patagonia region turned pink due to a chemical substance used to export prawns.
The chemical, sodium sulphate, which is the reason the lake turned pink, is an antibacterial product that is used to preserve the prawns from getting contaminated.
It is an antibacterial that also contaminates the waters of the Chubut River and waters of the cities of the region.
Though residents around the area were complaining of foul smells emerging from the area, the pink lake was an alarming situation for all.
