A Briton bought an old, thin, long-handled spoon for $125 off a street in London and later sold it for $2,648 at an online auction. His intuition led him to the fact that the odd-looking spoon was rare.
The unnamed man went to the ‘Lawrences Auctioneers’ in Britain where he registered the spoon for selling and waited to make sure it was of value.
After being examined by an expert, it was found that it was a silver spoon dating back to the late thirteenth century. Its value was estimated at $695.25.
The spoon was put up in an online auction to sell for $2,648.59.
