With a team of world-class chefs, access to the best food that money can buy, and dining rooms at palaces across the UK, you would have thought meal times are always prestigious in the Windsor household.
The chef of Britain's Queen Elizabeth II revealed her favorite eating habits, as he revealed that the Queen loves to eat a piece of cake at noon daily according to British newspapers.
Chef Darren McGrady, 59, explained that the 95-year-old Queen loves to eat cakes as a daily snack, especially gingerbread cookies and chocolate chip cookies.
He said: "The royal chefs send a whole cake to the queen every day in the afternoon, she distributes the cake among chefs and workers in the palace."
He pointed out that the Queen is keen to take cakes with her during her travels and trips out of her love for him. He explained that the Queen prefers two types of tea, "Assam" and "Earl Gray".
The chocolate cake along with her black bag, are the only two things the Queen doesn't give up on her travels.
McGrady revealed earlier that Queen Elizabeth has a small notebook on her desk in which she takes notes about food. She also hates strong flavors like garlic and onions, and loves cheese sandwiches and fish and chips. In the evening, the Queen likes to eat chocolate bars or fruits.
The Queen might only enjoy small portions of savoury food, but McGrady says she is a glutton for sweet. Charbonnel et Walker, Bendicks, and Prestat all hold royal warrants.
"She is absolutely a chocoholic," McGrady told Hello! magazine in 2016. "Anything we put on the menu that had chocolate on, she would choose, especially chocolate perfection pie [a layered chocolate pie with white and dark chocolate and chocolate shavings]."
