Emirati chef Badr Najeeb Al Awadhi celebrated the 50th National Day of the Union by making a sweet assortment in the shape of the front page of Al Khaleej newspaper issued on December 2, 1971, announcing the establishment of the United Arab Emirates.
Gulf Today newspaper is a sister publication of the Arabic daily, Al Khaleej.
Najeeb shared a video on his Instagram showing how he was inspired to make the masterpiece desert.
He captioned the video, “50 years of giving and prosperity… Oh God, make it a safe, secure, generous, prosperous country.”
The video showed his skills and precision with which he makes delicacies.
The self-taught professional Emirati cook is known as “Chef B” to his over 156,000 Instagram followers.
The young lad has gained recognition for his unique sweet treats.
Recently in the Sharjah International Book Fair, Najeeb said, “I love using social media like Youtube, Instagram and Snapchat to share my creations and to get feedback from people.
People don't have the time to watch a long 30 minute cooking show but these videos are short enough and ideal for them to learn how to make a dish."
Najeeb also shared tips and recipes and spoke about his beginnings and the challenges he faced during his early days.
Things didn't always look bright for Najeeb. When he started, Bader said that there was a lot of criticism because he was a man and cooking has long been viewed as a woman-dominated area in the UAE.
"I think in life in general it's important to disregard the negative comments that people throw at you if you are passionate about what you're doing," he said.
