There is an arrest warrant against her issued by a trial court in Bihar’s Begusarai town.
The warrant was issued on a complaint lodged by Shambhu Kumar, an ex-serviceman.
Kumar, in his complaint of 2020, alleged series 'XXX' (Season-2) featured several offensive scenes concerning a soldier's wife.
It said she was insulting soldiers and hurting the feelings of their families in the web series aired on her OTT platform ALTBalaji.
“OTT (Over The Top) content is available to all. What kind of choice are you providing to the people," a bench of Justices Ajay Rastogi and CT Ravikumar said.
A petition has been filed before the Patna High Court but there is no hope the matter will be listed for hearing soon.
Starting off in her early twenties, Kapoor has been de facto queen of Indian TV serials, ruling prime-time television with “saas-bahu” (mother-in-law and daughter-in-law) soaps. The serials have been extremely popular and have a strong focus on the role of women in the family.
