VIDEO: Sharjah-based Emirati chef Nawal Al Nuaimi’s Emirati Hot Chocolate is a hit at Davos forum

Sharjah-based Emirati chef Nawal Al Nuaimi is a hit at Davos with her authentic Emirati Hot Chocolate and other recipes.
Nawal, despite the freezing temperatures and snow, served in front of delegates to the UAE pavilion at the World Economic Forum in Davos, authentic Emirati baked food.
The chef is serving the unique drink that takes quite some time to prepare.
Nawal said that the drink reflects our culture and her Emirati Hot Chocolate is the bridge between the UAE and Switzerland.
Nawal said on Instagram, “You cannot imagine what this hot chocolate is taking… no one else had tried it before... and this is what I wanted... something very special... reflects our Emirati flavour in a different way... Emirati hot chocolate on the Swiss way and with the flavour of the authentic Emirati coffee, which is all saffron and cardamom… if you want to know more, visit our pavilion at Davos.”
Nawal shared videos and photos of her relentlessly working in the kitchen to make the best Emirati dishes.
Nawal said on Instagram, “Day 4 was smoother than yesterday… Everything is ready for tomorrow… I can't wait to serve Davos #wef #wef23. I tried some of the recipes that I prepared for hospitality… so that I wouldn't have any surprises ? and the most important of them was the Emirati hot chocolate with the flavour of the authentic Emirati coffee.”
A video showed delegates and officials queuing up to get a cup of Emirati Hot Chocolate. A gentleman told Nawal, “After one sip of this, it is not only going to be a great day, it is going to be a great week…”
Mohammad Abdullah Al Gergawi, Minister of Cabinet Affairs, and Chairman of the Committee leading Great Arab Minds, also visited Nawal at the small stall outside the UAE pavilion and praised the hot drink and her efforts.
Nawal took to her Instagram to thank him. She wrote, “Thank you, His Excellency Mohammad Al Gergawi, for your support ? #Emiratihotchocolate.”
The best part of Nawal’s coffee is that it is being handed out for free, as many as you want.
Nawal wrote that it takes extra time to prepare the drink and it is made of traditional Emirati coffee that is the gahwa and it is flavoured with cardamom, saffron and Swiss chocolate.
Nawal is the Founder and CEO of Paper Fig, a restaurant in Sharjah, that serves breakfast, lunch and dinner along with her special desserts.
Nawal is also the Board Member of Sharjah Business Women Council.
She started her baking career from her kitchen at home serving only to the demands of families and friends. The culinary career eventually bloomed in no time, which let her open her own restaurant in Muwaileh area of Sharjah with the help of Khalifa Fund.
The Davos forum, which welcomes leaders from business and politics to discuss global issues and economic fallouts, ends on Jan.20.
