Himel hosts roundtable discussion on how smart choices build equitable ecosystem on international Women's Day

In celebration of International Women's Day 2023, Himel, the award-winning global manufacturer and supplier of electrical products, hosted a roundtable discussion on "Life Changes When You Make Smart Choices" on 8th March 2023 at the Middle East Energy Exhibition (MEE) in Dubai, UAE.

The discussion featured several women leaders from the region: Sameera Fernandes, Director of Corporate Affairs and Sustainability, Century Financial; Dr. Loretta Sanders, Multi-award-winning Leader, Speaker, Transformational NLP Coach; Almas Tholot, Editor- MEP Middle East, ITP Media Group; Eng. Maitha Alblooshi, Scrum Master at Emirates NBD; and Shahanaz Haneef, Director, American Specialty Foods.

Shrinivas Chebbi, Global Head of Himel Business welcomed all the participants. “On this day, Himel is happy to host women in action and people who strive to make this world equitable. Women’s Day is not a celebration of just a day, rather it is a movement of lived and inspiring experiences.

Vibha Thusu, Global Head of Marketing and Communications at Himel, moderated the discussion and highlighted the significance of International Women's Day. She said, "On this International Women's Day, we are proud to bring together such powerful and inspiring women leaders to shed light on what it truly means to make smart choices and to raise a voice for equity.

Women don't need a 'superwoman' tag, as men are never called supermen. This difference in expectations and delivery is a big gap in equity and inclusion.”

The event also earmarked launch of their global campaign–Himel Women, that recognizes women who multitask, make smart choices for themselves and their loved ones’ well being and safety. “As a leading provider of quality assured and value engineered electrical products, Himel supports women in easing their decision for home electrical safety. With this campaign we want to celebrate unseen role of women in constant decision making,” Vibha said.

During the discussion, the women shared their insights and experiences on how to make smart choices, manage decision fatigue, and raise a voice for equity. They also discussed the qualities women bring to leadership roles and the importance of supporting women in developing and leveraging these qualities.

The participants addressed women's challenges in today's society and the workplace, including the need for equity, diversity, and inclusion initiatives. The discussion also explored the unique challenges women face in leadership roles and how organisations can better support and empower women to succeed.

The discussion was well-attended by visitors to the MEE exhibition, and the audience was actively engaged in the conversation. The event was a testament to Himel's commitment to promoting equity, diversity, and inclusion along with empowering women to achieve their full potential.
