Gulf Today Report
We all know that today is April Fool’s Day. The day does not pass without some Charlie playing a joke or pulling a prank on someone or some people. This also entails spreading what Trump keeps drilling into our heads: ‘fake news.’ In an interesting development, after being snapped by the paparazzi in Mumbai, Hollywood star couple Tom Holland and Zendaya were ‘spotted’ in the picture-postcard hill station of Munnar in the Idukki district of Kerala, the popular magnet for diehard romantics. Except that it was an April Fool’s Day prank.
The official account of Kerala Tourism on Saturday shared a picture of Holland and Zendaya holding hands as they posed standing amid the picturesque lush green environment of Munnar.
The photograph had the legend: "Guess who we spotted far away from home?" and had the hashtags 'faraway home', 'Munnar' and 'Kerala tourism'.
Twitterati, however, went into raptures over the prank.
Instead of finding the ruse offputting, many social media fans loved it. One user wrote ‘Kudos to editor,’ while another amused tweeter said: "April first hits Munnar!!"
Some netizens said it was Photoshopped.
But another gave this cautionary note: "Nice try don't do it again."
Zendaya and Tom were snapped by the paparazzi arriving at Mumbai airport on Friday. The two were photographed exiting the airport.
It was rumoured that the two were in the city for the opening of the Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Centre, the latest spectacular platform for artists, performers, and creatives, which attracted the who’s who from the world of tinsel and glitter. But they were reportedly not spotted at the event.
