A team of British chocolatiers has created a chocolate bust of Britain's King Charles III, modeled on marble and bronze, ahead of his coronation on May 6 at Westminster Abbey in London.
Celebrations, the well-known confectionery brand in the United Kingdom, has taken over the manufacture of this figurine, which it will launch in a limited edition to celebrate this historic event.
“There is no better way to celebrate this moment in British history than to perpetuate His Majesty King Charles III with the perfect gift to share with the nation,” said Emily Owen, Senior Brand Director of Celebrations.
The team spent hours studying footage of the King to capture the true likeness before creating the statue, which took 4 weeks to make and it weighs 23 kg.
The team said around 2,875 Celebrations chocolates were used to make the sculpture.
The shoulders of the king's military jacket were decorated with small Twix, Milky Way, Galaxy and Bounty chocolates, while Maltesers were used to decorate the king's collar.
The medals adorning the king's chest were made using a single bar of every known type of chocolate, including miniature Snickers bars.
“Celebrations bring people together, and we are thrilled to share this occasion with so many chocoholics across the country,” Owen added.
The bust is set to go on display at Mars Wrigley’s headquarters in Slough.
