Sunglasses make a fashion statement, we all know that. They make the wearer look very trendy. In a region where the heat is a major headache, they help counter the glare of the sun. But there is a warning here for those motorists wearing sunglasses: don’t keep them on the dashboard.
One car driver in the English Midlands kept the shades on the dashboard of his vehicle, and sparked a blaze, sending firefighters rushing to the rescue.
The mercury is soaring not just here, but also in England, if 24˚C can be called hot, that is.
An image showed the fire had shattered the windscreen of the car, and damaged the interior of the vehicle. Now fire officials have warned that reflective objects should never be kept in direct sunlight.
The fire also damaged the steering wheel of the car. According to a report in a section of the British media, Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service had to move quickly to the site of the incident.
