The Moscow Interior and Design Week has consistently served as a platform for exchanging expertise between Russian producers and international design industry experts. Moreover, the exhibition provides new companies a platform to introduce themselves, showcase their achievements to the public, and attract new clients from Muscovites, capital city guests, and international partners.
At the event, 12 cooperation agreements worth over RUB 13.8 billion ($152 mln) were signed, involving both Russian and international companies. This year, the exhibition's business program was highlighted by the arrival of 42 buyers from 6 countries. This enabled Russian manufacturers to establish new export channels for furniture and decor to Egypt, Algeria, Morocco, Saudi Arabia, India, and Turkey.
The highlight of the business agenda was the B2B session "Unlocking Opportunities: Exploring Demand for Furniture and Interior Items in India," which connected buyers, designers, independent industry experts, and over 50 domestic companies. Industry representatives discussed business models and strategies for entering international markets, highlighting key directions and opportunities for collaboration with Indian exporters.
Moscow Interior and Design Week proved to be an effective tool for attracting new clients, with brands and designers generating sales of RUB 11 mln. This year, visitors could purchase their favorite furniture and decor directly at the exhibitors' stands and in the Made in Moscow project showroom, which featured an apartment fully furnished by Moscow-based companies. The project brings together over 5,000 promising furniture and decor manufacturers from Moscow.
The exhibition continues to draw global experts for knowledge sharing and open dialogue among industry professionals worldwide. This year at the Moscow Interior and Design Week, Hussein Bakri, the chief architect of Akon City, spoke about his project designing a futuristic city in Senegal inspired by Wakanda from the globally renowned comic book universe. Kavita Chaudhary, ranked among the Top 25 designers by Do-school (Germany), shared her experiences in designing for celebrities and participating in Dubai Design Week.
Experts from the USA and UAE discussed their latest ambitious projects and their most successful creative endeavors. B.C. Biermann (USA) discussed his use of augmented reality in projects, Pallavi Dean (UAE) shared her journey to success and bold approaches for budding designers, while Jude LeBlanc (USA) offered advice on setting trends and crafting unique interior pieces.
Moscow residents and visitors engaged in various exhibition activities: they attended master classes by design industry professionals, tested materials in a crash-test zone, participated in an immersive show and a repair certificate raffle, and enjoyed dancing to Sergey Lazarev's hits at his concert.
