SHARJAH: Heavy fog enveloped several areas of the UAE on Thursday morning, much to the surprise of the morning commuters.
Residents woke up to see their surroundings blanketed in the fog.
The UAE authorities have urged motorists to exercise caution in the streets.
Resident Arshad Amin, who works in Dubai, was caught up in the morning traffic.
Traffic however remained normal, and there were no accidents reported.
The weather was generally pleasant.
The National Centre for Meteorology (NCM) monitored the fog situation over the country.
The lowest temperature recorded over the country was 7.7°C in Hamim, Abu Dhabi
at around 5.15am, according to the NCM website.
