Dubai: The Ministry of State for Federal National Council Affairs (MFNCA) has organised a ceremony at the Grand Hyatt Dubai Hotel to honour its partners in political development and recognise their contribution to the Ministry’s objectives to enhance coordination between the FNC and the UAE Government and promote political participation.
The MFNCA’s Undersecretary Tariq Hilal Lootah attended the ceremony, along with Ahmed Shabib Al Dhaheri, Secretary General of the Federal National Council (FNC), Abdullah Mohammed Al Ashram, Acting CEO of Emirates Post Group, Ali Ghanem Al Romaithi, Executive Director of Business Support at the Abu Dhabi Crown Prince’s Court; Dr Saeed Mohammed Al Ghafli, MFNCA’s Assistant Undersecretary for Federal National Council Affairs, Brigadier Omar Mohamed Al Khayyal, Director of the Police Officers Training Institute at the Ministry of Interior; and Brigadier General Mohammed Butti Thani Al Shamsi, Deputy Director of the Dubai Police Academy; in addition to representatives from the entities that were honoured at the ceremony, which include federal and local government agencies, academic institutions, and private organisations across the UAE.
During the ceremony, the Ministry showcased its events, activities, and achievements over the past year, which sought to promote political participation in the community, and strengthen collaboration between the legislative and executive branches of government, in line with the Political Empowerment Programme launched by His Highness Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE. The Programme’s main objective is to embrace the “Shura” approach and empower the FNC to play its part in serving the country and its citizens.
Speaking at the event, Tariq Hilal Lootah welcomed the strategic partners and audience to the event, saying: “An effective partnership between the various entities and sectors in the UAE is key for implementing the vision of our wise leadership, drive the prosperity of our society, and achieve the UAE’s ambitious goals to be among the best countries in the world by 2021, and the best in the world in all fields by the year 2071.”
