Child rescued from falling off window

DUBAI:  Syrian Mohammed Anas Al Orabi rescued a 3-year-old Arab boy whom he saw accidentally climbing the window of the family apartment on the seventh floor of a building in Ajman, in a way that was threatening his life.

Al Orabi reported the incident to Al Nuaimiya police station. The police patrol rushed to the scene and took the child from the house to the social support centre until their parents were called.

Major General Sheikh Sultan Bin Abdullah Al Nuaimi, Commander-in-Chief of the Ajman Police, praised Al Orabi for his promptness, rapid reaction and good behaviour.

Major Ghaith Khalifa Al Kaabi noted the need to pay attention to safety measures in houses, especially in upper floor flats with open windows to ensure the safety of children and protect them from the danger of falling.

Recently,  a 5-year-old Emirati boy sustained moderate to serious injuries after falling on his head from a motorbike driven by his 10-year-old sister.

The injured child was transferred to Saqr Governmental Hospital in Ras Al Khaimah.

He was placed in the hypnotherapy section, and was under observation and was kept in the intensive care unit.

He was also sent for examinations and radiation. The child’s sister sustained minor injuries.

The residents of Ras Al Khaimah demanded that the authorities impose strict security and safety rules on motorbikes’ rental shops.

In another case, the General Directorate of Ras Al Khaimah Police stated they arrested a young driver who committed 1,251 traffic violations in two years, with a total value of Dhs1,158,000, setting a record number of traffic fines.

Colonel Waleed Mohammed Juma, head of Al Mamoura Comprehensive Police Station, said, “The 23-year-old driver is a UAE national whose vehicle was seized during the “Tawajodi” traffic campaign. He added, “When we checked the vehicle data in the federal traffic system, it turned out that the driver had committed 1,200 overspeeding violations and 51 violations under “Wanted for impoundment”, with a total value of Dhs1,158,000.” Juma explained the value is the largest recorded on a single driver in Ras Al Khaimah during this period, pointing out that the radars on the roads of the emirate spotted the vehicle on different roads in the emirate, exceeding the speed limits.
