Scholarship launched to promote creativity

DUBAI: American University in the Emirates (AUE), a higher education institution known for providing unique and creative courses, launched the “AUE Presidential Design Talent Scholarship” with an objective to engage and encourage talented and creative design students in the fields of Interior Design, Fashion Design, Graphic Design and Animation Design.

Dr. Chadi Chamoun, Dean of the College of Design at the American University in the Emirates, said that the Scholarship is open to all high school and college students who wish to join AUE as freshmen or wish to transfer from an existing university.

“We are keen to encourage creativity and a rich sense of passion in design while bringing the best talent in to AUE, and supporting and nurturing that talent throughout the academic process,” he added.

Students awarded the “AUE Presidential Design Talent Scholarship” will be offered 30% to 50% tuition scholarship for their four years at AUE (depending on their major area of study and talent capacity), and will also be required to participate in design department activities at the American University in the Emirates from time to time.

The guidelines for eligibility of the scholarships are essential. The students are required to submit a digital portfolio and a cover statement entailing their perspective on ‘The Capacity of Design to Inspire Ideas and Change in Society’ or ‘Design: Nothing is Impossible.’  Further, they are also required to meet faculty in order for the university to decide on their eligibility.

Since, the UAE offers all the support and encouragement to youth and  students, citizens from all over the world in various fields, the American University in the Emirates launched the scholarship to do its part motivating the talented, creative students in the region.

The scholarship is inclusive and open to all nationalities and ethnicities. All high school and college students who wish to join AUE as freshmen or wish to transfer from an existing university.

Applications must be submitted by the end of April 2019.
