The UAE and Saudi Arabia relief agencies have announced a joint initiative to alleviate the suffering of people affected by the devastating flash floods that recently hit Iran.
The Emirates Red Crescent (ERC) will coordinate with its Saudi counterpart on the best ways of implementing the initiative.
A joint statement issued by the two relief organisations said the operation is being undertaken within the framework of Islamic brotherhood and in solidarity with the Iranian people.
The two relief agencies are discussing the appropriate procedures to implement the initiative, in order to make a positive contribution to the efforts seeking to mitigate the impact of the floods in the affected areas.
