Young inventors star in course

The Emirates Science Club concluded the “Spring Course” programme with creative inventions and scientific ideas presented by tender-aged Emirati talents at the Cultural and Scientific Association in Dubai.

The ceremony was held yesterday evening with the participation of 104 youngsters from the sons and daughters of the UAE, whose ages ranged from 7 to 18 years. Among the attendees were Jamal Mohammed Sharif Al Khayat, and Eng. Mohammed Al Shamsi from the Board of Directors, along with a large number of student and their parents.

The ceremony began with Al-Khayyat and Al-Shamsi checking the scientific and technical exhibition, which included the students’ projects that were undertaken during the course. However, the projects represent the individual and collective efforts made in the implementing of such scientific ideas in the field of UAV software, electricity, electronics, robotics, 3D printing and the Young Scientist Programme. In addition to the artworks and handicrafts that aim at bringing out the artistic and creative energy of the youth.

The innovative programme focused on the raising the awareness of students on the importance of applied sciences, which distinguish the UAE as an major approach founded by the late Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan, and adopted by the wise leadership in its various initiatives and work plans.

Moreover, the activities focused on the participants’ acquisition of various experiences, knowledge and skills, which bring together science, technology, arts and artistry with scientific innovations.

Al Shamsi stated in his speech that the wise leadership of the UAE is keen on improvising human abilities through scientific institutions. He pointed out the major role played by the Emirates Science Club in supporting and developing talents. He also called upon parents to seize the opportunities available for students in the science club, and to focus on technical education which will contribute in building a bright future for this young, innovative generation.

Emirates Science Club (ESC) is branch of the Cultural and Scientific Association in Dubai and promotes science among the youth. ESC focuses on creativity, innovative thinking, and acquisition of technical skills.  In cooperation with a team of experts and specialists, ESC provides the necessary support and care for inventors to be able to translate their ideas into real innovative products.
