Man charged with pornographic crime

The Fujairah appellate court adjourned the case of a restaurant worker charged with sending pornographic pictures and videos to an Arab girl who ordered a meal at the restaurant.

The girl reportedly received a phone call from the suspect in the middle of the night in which the suspect asked to know her but she terminated the call. The suspect contacted her again but she did not respond, so he sent her pornographic videos and pictures via WhatsApp. She then informed the police that arrested him. When his cell phone was searched, the police found the messages and pornographic videos and pictures he had sent to the victim.

The Public Prosecution charged him with harassment abusing the electronic media.

In another case, the Criminal Court of Dubai on Tuesday sentenced four Asians to one year in prison each to be followed by deportation over robbery and impersonation charges. The convicts reportedly impersonated police detectives and stole Dhs385,000 from three persons.

According to the police records, the convicts knew the victims possessed money which tempted them to steal it. They headed to the victims’ house impersonating police detectives,where they informed the victims that they are permitted to search the house. Then, they attacked them, tied their hands with plastic restraints, beat them up, stole the money, and fled, the police records added.

Through investigations, the convicts were identified and arrested. They were then detained and referred to the Public Prosecution, where they confessed to the charges.

In another case, Ihab Atta reported that the Dubai Public Prosecution referred three suspects of Arab and Asian nationalities to the Dubai Criminal Court on 37 charges, including forgery of official documents, using false papers, using their powers to access an electronic system of a government body and forging documents of vehicles to export them. According to the investigations, a Dubai Police first lieutenant testified that a car theft was reported and they were informed that the car was at the headquarters of a company. He added that the vehicle was sent to the company through a shipping company. In contact with the shipping company, it turned out that the second suspect, working for a company, asked to ship several cars.

The three suspects were involved in fraudulent entry into the customs electronic system, conniving with a person to enter the customs data they had counterfeited and modifications to the chassis umbers of each vehicle, to be able to ship the vehicles abroad.
