Massive fire in landfill brought under control

The civil defense teams in Fujairah on Sunday night managed to control a huge fire that broke out in a landfill in the Badia area, about 40 km north of Fujairah.
Colonel Khaled Al-Hammoudi, Deputy Director of the Department of Civil Defense in Fujairah said that the fire broke out late on Sunday in the area of Al-Badia, one of the mountainous areas in the emirate of Fujairah. The fire spread heavily in the landfill on flammable materials.
The firefighters were able to contain the fire professionally in the cooperation with many other government departments in Fujairah. The fire was brought under control and prevented its spread in the location, Al Hammoudi added.
