Woman drives car with a man sitting on its bonnet

The Dubai Police arrested the person who recorded a video of a man sitting on a car’s bonnet driven by a woman in the emirate. The video went viral on social media.
Colonel Faisal Al Qasim, Director of Security Media at Dubai Police, said, “The Dubai Police have summoned the man and the woman who appeared in a video that went viral on social media. The video showed an Arab man (valet parking worker) sitting on a car’s bonnet being driven by an Arab woman, in an attempt by him to prevent her from driving the car in Bur Dubai area, endangering his and others’ life. The police also arrested the person who recorded the incident.”
The man, who works in a valet parking of a hotel in Bur Dubai, explained that he tried to prevent the woman from leaving because of a dispute between them.
He said that the woman gave him a parking ticket of another car. The woman reported that she had paid the fare and handed him the correct ticket. The police have taken the necessary legal action against them, said Al Qasim.
He explained that taking photos or shooting videos of others is an invasion of their privacy that may attract a fine between Dhs150,000 and Dhs500,000, in addition to a minimum of six months in jail, according to Federal Decree Law No. 5 of 2012 of the Cybercrime Law.
Al Qasim urges members of the public to refrain from similar actions as filming or taking pictures of others without their permission or defaming others online is punishable by UAE’s laws and regulations.
The Federal Decree Law No. 5 of 2012 on Combating Cybercrimes (Cybercrime Law) prohibits the invasion of an individual’s privacy by taking pictures of others, or publishing or displaying those pictures.
In another recent case, an African was killed after being run over by a vehicle on Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Road. The driver fled from the scene.
The Police Central Operations Room received a tipoff on the incident. Patrols and the national ambulance rushed to the scene where the victim was transported to Al Qasimi Hospital, but he died before arriving, due to severe injuries.
