Differently-abled welcome Ramadan

In an exceptional ceremony, Rashid Centre for The Determined Ones  organised a unique exhibition to welcome the holy month of Ramadan, during which remarkable traditional and handicraft products were displayed.

The products included Abayas, perfumes and special Emirati cuisines, and the opening ceremony was attended by Her Highness Sheikha Rawda Bint Maktoum Bin Rashid Bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Sheikha Fatima Bint Hasher Bin Dalmok Al Maktoum, Maryam Othman, Director General of Rashid Centre for The Determined Ones, along with an Egyptian delegation that included the renowned actress Ragaa Al Giddawy, television presenter Poussy Chalabi, film director Inas El Degheidy, Suheir Abdelkader, Board’s Chairman of the Awladna Foundation for people of determination, along with other well-known figures.

Furthermore, Sheikha Rawda Al Maktoum expressed her pleasure at participating in the inauguration of the charity exhibition that witnessed the distinguished works of participants at the centre.

She pointed out that the organisation of such events, for instance charity exhibitions, certainly contributes to raising the awareness of society about the great abilities of people of determination in terms of giving if they were not provided with the proper opportunities to learn and train. Sheikha Radwa also noted that the people of determination have proved they are worthy of the opportunity to take part in all aspects of life, where they showed a clear distinction in their work.

Sheikha Radwa spoke of the diverse and significant achievements of the UAE in encouraging and supporting the people of determination; saying “All these achievements have established an infrastructure in the field of care and rehabilitation of the people of determination.”

For her part, Maryam Othman noted that the Rashid Center for The Determined Ones annually organises many events, and in this year’s edition it was decided to expand the circle of participation by establishing an exhibition inside the centre, where the traditional and handicrafts products are displayed. In this event, we have found a great response from many institutions and companies who were ready to participate in this event, which have showed a different direction of communicating with our children the people of determination who possess exceptional talents and abilities.
