Hansika Shukla and Karishma Arora were declared joint toppers by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), which declared results for Class 12 on Thursday.
The girls have outshined boys this time by nine per cent and the two girl toppers shared the first position with each scoring 499 out of 500. The overall pass percentage was 83.4 per cent.
"CBSE Class 12 results: Delhi improves by 2.87 per cent as compared with last year," Delhi Education Minister Manish Sisodia tweeted.
In 2018, the pass percentage was 89 per cent, this year it jumped to 91.87 per cent.
"Congratulations to all the teachers, parents and my dear students. You have made me feel proud," he added.
Trivandrum region emerged at the top with a pass percentage of 98.2 per cent. The Chennai region stood second with a pass percentage of 92.93 while Delhi stood at the third place with 91.87 per cent.
Sons of Delhi CM Kejriwal and Minister Irani score over 90%
Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and Union Minister Smriti Irani on Thursday became proud parents as their sons scored over 90 percentile in the CBSE Class 12 results.
Sharing the happiness on Twitter, Irani said: "Proud of my son Zohr. Not only did he come back with a bronze medal from the World Kempo Championship, he also scored well in Class 12 boards. Today I'm just a gloating mom."
Sunita Kejriwal, wife of Aam Aadmi Party chief Arvind Kejriwal, also took to Twitter and said: "With God's grace and well-wishers' blessings, son has secured 96.4 percentile in the CBSE Class 12."
