Maj. Gen. Saif Al Zari Al Shamsi, Commander-in-Chief of the Sharjah Police on Tuesday launched a smart device dubbed “Sahl” at the Service Centre of the Traffic and Licensing Department. The device provides services for the public via simple hassle-free procedures to complete their traffic transactions quickly and effeicently.
This was in the presence of Colonel Ahmed Said Al-Na’our, Director General of Central Operations, Colonel Ali Al-Bazoud, Deputy Director General of Central Operations and Director of Traffic and Licensing Services Center, Colonel Mohammed Alai Al Naqbi, Director of Traffic and Patrols Department and a number of heads of concerned departments.
Colonel Ali Al-Bazoud explained that the launching of “Sahl” device, which saves the effort by completing transactions in a record time of two minutes, comes within the keenness of Sharjah Police to enhance the quality of life and realize happiness for the customers.
There will be 15 Sahl devices distributed to the service centers across the emirate, including three at the traffic and licensing department and 12 in the comprehensive police stations, Al-Bazoud added.
On friday, Maj. Gen. Saif Al Zari Al Shamsi, Commander-in-Chief of Sharjah Police, unveiled a noise detector that is customized to control the vehicles that cause noise in the residential areas.
The device will be deployed in the residential areas in the city of Sharjah, the eastern and middle areas in the emirate, to ensure quietness and reduce disturbance caused by some vehicles in the residential neighborhoods.
Maj. Gen. Al Zari expressed his hope to expand deployment of modern noise control systems in order to curb violations of noise, disturbance and recklessness driving, in addition to reducing accidents and risks that result from such irresponsible conducts.
Lt. Col. Alay Al Naqbi, Director of Traffic and Patrols Department at Sharjah Police, said that the solar-powered device monitors the noise-causing vehicles via HD audiovisual features, which assess level of sound on roads.
“The device has been customized to alert the operations room when more than one vehicle causing noise at the same time referring to the possibility of traffic chaos in their location,” Alay added.
