The Community Police Department of the Sharjah Police had embarked on the awareness programmes, which were announced before the beginning of the holy month of Ramadan, which aimed at raising awareness among community members and attendees of Ramadan tents. The major objective of the programmes is to maintain safety and security, and prevent any form of negative behaviour from happening during the holy month.
Lt. Col. Ahmed Al Marri, Director of the Community Police Department of Sharjah Police, noted that awareness-raising teams has proceeded their work with full dedication since the first day of Ramadan, by giving awareness lectures to Ramadan tents’ visitors right before Iftar time as a part of “Aman Ya Ramadan” campaign. Ramadan tents witness a major turnout of workers which have the attention of the campaign holders.
During the first two days of Ramadan, five awareness lectures have been given in different areas of Sharjah city and the Eastern and central regions, targeting a number of 5216 people, in which lectures about the dangers of drugs, and traffic safety were included; discussing detailed results of drug abuse, and methods of protection from it. They also discussed the causes of traffic accidents and the ways of avoiding such fatal incidents. Ramadan tents visitors expressed their gratitude to the Sharjah Police for their excessive efforts in raising awareness, praising the leading role they play in raising awareness among members of the UAE community.
