Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan made unannounced visits to hospitals and government institutions in Sargodha, Khushab, and Talagang to get a clear picture of the daily life and work in the cities and inspected a number of facilities.
The visit is part of Khan’s approach to have a direct check on administration and get briefings on services provided by such institutions. Khan has vowed to eradicate corruption from the country. He insists that basic facilities be available to common people.
Pakistan’s Prime Minister's Office Twitter account said, “Prime Minister Imran Khan along with Adviser on Health, Zafar Mirza pays a surprise visit to DHQ hospital in Sargodah. PM enquired about the health of children at the Children's Ward and took notice of the conditions and facilities available.
“Prime Minister Imran Khan visited local police station at Talagung, checked the record book, conditions of the prison cells and enquired about the crimes in the area.
While the Prime Minister was on a round of a hospital, a baby born there was named after him.
The official Twitter account of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) said, “The Cutest video on Internet today! Newly born baby named after @ImranKhanPTI as Prime Minister pays a surprise visit to Khushab DHQ Hospital today. The people of Pakistan love their Prime Minister and the bond gets stronger and stronger!”
The PTI said, “On his visit to the DHQ in Sargodha today to enquire about the health facilities, Prime Minister @ImranKhanPTI met this really elderly man, held and shook his hand; expressing amazing compassion and concern for the common man. #Ehsaas #ImranKhan…”
Recently, Imran Khan suspended police accused of being slow to investigate the abduction and murder of a 10-year-old girl in a case that has sparked national outrage.
The family of the murdered girl, Farishta, say that they reported her missing on May 15 but the police in the capital Islamabad refused to investigate the case or register a missing persons report for five days.
