College celebrates Spirit of Ramadan

In the multicultural landscape of the UAE, it is humbling to witness unity amidst the diversity. And this is emphasised in the holy month of Ramadan, which is lit up by the spirit of compassion and tolerance, values that make up the pillars of the Year of Tolerance.

It is inspiring to see organisations doing charity and humanitarian campaigns. At Skyline University College, the spirit of Ramadan is kept alive with various events organised not just for students and employees, but also for the local community.

To spread the spirit of togetherness and express its appreciation to the support of its strategic partners from the government and the corporates, and friends from the media, Skyline University College hosted a Suhoor at Al Majlis Madinat Jumeirah, Dubai on May 11. Consuls-General of various countries such as India, Denmark, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, Ghana, South Africa, Indonesia, and Nigeria, government officials and leaders from various sectors graced the event with their presence. The Suhoor is Skyline’s way of showing gratitude to the organisations and the people who have put their faith in the university’s vision, mission, and goals.

To fulfil its corporate social responsibility and to show its appreciation to the hard work and sacrifices of the labourers, Skyline organised an Iftar for Sharjah labourers the at SUC cricket ground on May 19. The labourers, along with Skyline staff, gathered to enjoy a sumptuous meal. The students and employees prepared goodie bags that were distributed to the laborers.

Ramadan promotes a culture of kindness, respect, and sharing. In line with this, the entire Skyline community, along with parents and alumni, shared an Iftar meal together.  The event brought together people of different nationalities and religion, which reflects the values emphasised by the UAE government for the Year of Tolerance.
