The Sharjah Municipality announced that public parking spaces will be free during the Eid Al Fitr period, from the first to the third day of Shawwal, except for a number of areas. These areas include Al Hisn Street (banks complex) in Shuwaheen and Al Sheioukh areas, Corniche Street on both sides in the area of Al-Shuwaheen, Qais Bin Abi Sa’sa’h Street (the Bird Market) in Al-Jubail area.
The other areas include the Central Souq at Al-Majaz 1, Al-Corniche Street from Al Buhairah side in Al-Majaz 1, Al-Majaz 2 and Al-Majaz 3 areas and also the University City Road in Muwailah commercial area.
The Municipality urges the public to adhere to the rules and to avoid misuse of the parking spaces such as double parking and other negative behaviour.
The inspection on those areas will be intensified during the holidays to curb the violations.
Eid Al Fitr Prayers
The Eid Al Fitr prayers in the UAE will be performed at 5:48 am in Abu Dhabi, 5:43 am in Dubai, 5:42 am in Sharjah, 5:42 am in Ajman, 5:39 am in Ras Al Khaimah, 5:40 am in Fujairah, 5:40 am in Umm Al Quwain and 5:43 am in Al Ain.
Recently, under the directives of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Cabinet, chaired by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, approved Edi Al Fitr holidays for the government departments that started on June 2 until June 6. Duty will be resumed on June 9.
Recently, The Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation announced that the period between Ramadan 29 and Shawal 3 inclusive will be a fully paid holiday for all private sector employees marking the Eid Al Fitr.
This was announced in a circular issued by Nasser Bin Thani Al Hamli, Minister of Human Resources and Emiratisation, in implementation of a Cabinet’s decision on official holidays for private sector employees.
