Scores of community people from different nationalities, including Pakistan, have been attending every Friday a session that offers them an opportunity to explore better jobs.
The Pakistani Social Centre Sharjah (PSCS) has been organising the weekly sessions for over one year (14-months) at its premises in collaboration with Navafiz, an organisation expert in organising training, coaching, seminars and workshops for job hunters.
“The PSCS and Navafiz had signed an agreement last year to organise weekly sessions free for all communities as part of its service toward the community we are working in. Since last 14 month we have been hosting a session on every Friday in which not only Pakistani community but other communities residing in Sharjah, Ajman and other Northern communities are getting benefit. The social centre also connecting job seekers with employers who have registered with us and playing a bridge between them,” said Khalid Hussain Chaudhry, President PSCS while talking to Gulf Today.
He further added that through the series of the workshops, seminars, etc., a number of Pakistani community members got their dream jobs while many received good response. “We knew this because many people have called us or left their appreciation messages on our social media pages and told us about their end of job hunting,” he added.
The experts from the Navafiz have been allotted a room in the social centre where they weekly hold session for community job seekers. During the 3-hour session, the job seekers were told a number of techniques, advice on career development, writing an appropriate CV (curriculum vitae) and cover letter, preparations for upcoming interviews, one-to-one coaching, and motivational talks besides skills to improve social media and networking techniques.
The centre has been receiving good response from various communities on this job hunting sessions as people from other communities like India, Bangladesh, Uganda, Nigeria and others also attending free of cost and getting good response.
However, Khalid Chaudhry, President PSCS has also said that the recent mobile service by the Pakistan Consulate in Dubai to provide a number of consul services for community members residing in Sharjah also getting huge response. “This Friday we are hosting the Pakistani Consulate team second time in the last two months as a large number of community members attending the mobile service in which the officials provided a number of services.
