Students at Winchester School in Jebel Ali raised a sum of Dhs10,000 for underprivileged children in Malawi.
The students collected and sold 5,000 old and unsed books at the school's annual fun fairs and parent-teacher meetings.
The initiative is called 'Winshares' and was launched last year, when the school decided to adopt a school in rural Malawi, under Dubai Cares' 'Adopt a School' programme.
To collect the books, the children went to different classes in the school to shine light about the situation of the children in Malawi and why the initiative is important.
