New speed limit on Fujairah road

The Police announced on Sunday a reduction in the speed limit of  a key road in Fujairah.

The speed on Sheikh Maktoun Bin Rashid road, which extends from Yabsa Bypass Roundabout to the end of Thawban area has been reduced from 140kmph to 120kmph.

The change will be effective from July 1, 2019.

According to the authorities, the 20kmph buffer speed still stands.

Due to the change radars will flash motorist at 141kmph and not 161kmph.

According to the statement, ''Fixed radars have been installed on the road and mobile speed cameras will be deployed on Sheikh Maktoum bin Rashid road to oversee drivers' compliance with the new speed limit and ensure road users' safety.''
