Dubai Summer Surprises abuzz with fun offers

The Dubai Summer Surprises is continuing to attract visitors with its unlimited shopping and entertainment opportunities.

The Majid Al Futtaim shopping malls in Dubai have invited residents and tourists to take advantage of their massive discounts, live entertainment and family activities throughout summer.

Mall of the Emirates and City Centres Deira, Mirdif, Me’aisem, Al Shindagha and My City Centre Al Barsha will have up to 75 per cent discounts on popular international   fashion, technology, jewellery and homeware brands.

Mercato on Jumeirah Beach Road has an array of amazing activities, events and promotions in store to ensure a memorable shopping and leisure experience during the six-week summer festival. 

The summer shopping extravaganza includes discounts from 25 per cent till 75 per cent. An expenditure of  Dhs200 at Mercato and Town Centre Jumeirah can give a chance to win a brand-new Infiniti QX70 or a family holiday to Thailand with dnata Travel and Banyan Tree Phuket.   

For the first time in the region Mercato will feature a giant slide. The structure will be built from the first floor to the ground floor and will be an amazing opportunity for families and children to beat the heat and slide into summer fun.

Throughout the summer celebration, Mercato will be transformed into a circus arena hosting a great variety of international circus shows and roaming performances. Kids can enjoy the circus themed interactive workshops where they will learn fun tricks and much more.

Watch Jacopo in Circus Follie; a juggling show that is a combination of creating rhythms, gags, sympathy along with his refined style makes this show original and unique. The International Juggler Chris came all the way from Mexico, will be performing a juggling show combined with the acrobatic bola bola act and an incredible spinning show.

Kids can enjoy the circus themed interactive workshops where they will learn fun tricks and much more.

This weekend will offer plenty of surprises to keep residents and visitors entertained with a host of exciting events and activities taking place across the city.

Families looking to keep their kids entertained can head to City Centre Deira to see the famous ‘Justice League’ superheroes show and join Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman and The Flash on a journey to defend the earth from  June 27 to July 6.

The final night of the Abba Reunion will be held at the Theatre by QE2 on June 27. Performing some of the iconic band’s favourite hits including ‘Waterloo’ and ‘Mamma Mia’, the tribute act will offer audiences two concerts a night at 8pm and 10pm. Ticket prices start from Dhs180.

Alserkal Avenue’s The Junction will host the Tony-nominated dark comedy “A Behanding in Spokane”. Directed by the Oscar-winning filmmaker Martin McDonagh, the play follows the life of an ageing man engaged in an obsessive, decades-long search for his missing hand. The show will run for two days starting 27 June.

The Outlet Village will be transforming in to the ultimate summer camp for kids, offering an array of activities including art doodling, a challenge zone decked out with mini golf, twister, hopscotch, an arcade and even a performance stage, showcasing acts around science, magic and circus tricks.

Ibn Battuta Mall’s ‘Tropical Experience’ will host a series of family friendly productions running daily throughout DSS. This weekend, head down to catch one of the shows from 5pm – 10pm, including Beauty and the Beast, Last Voyage of Sinbad, Peter Pan Adventures, Pirates Of Arabia, Alice in Wonderland and Princesses to the Rescue.
