A group of 16 students of Ryan International School, Sharjah, have returned motivated after a fun-filled educational trip to the US that included visits to Nasa, UN Headquarters, MIT, Harvard University, Berklee College of Music, Universal Studios and several other significant places.
The students who visited New York, Boston and Orlando said that such informative and fun-filled international trips will motivate them intellectually and socially.
Main highlight of their visit was the Kennedy Space Centre, where they had an interactive session with astronaut Jon E Blaha, who is a veteran of five space missions aboard the Space Shuttle and Mir. He shared his thrilling experience in space.
The students had an exciting learning experience at Nasa which included space shuttle launch and 3D IMAX movies on space.
“Nasa was the exciting part of the trip. I got lots of information about space shuttle launch,” said Abdullah, a student of Grade 10.
According to Jessica, “It is not so easy to become an astronaut. A lot of hard work is required.”
They visited the world’s leading universities in engineering and science like MIT and Harvard which are their dream destinations for higher studies. They were overwhelmed by the educational facilities and excellent academic environment. Many of them went a step ahead and obtained information about various courses offered by these universities.
“I wish to join Harvard University for my higher studies,” Alisha, a student of Grade 8, expressed her desire.
The students also visited the UN Headquarters and Berklee College of Music. It was truly an exposure to them for learning about different careers.
“I am going to become an actress after my experience in Broadway,” Varuna, a student of Grade 8, announced her ambition.
Besides educational, the visit was entertaining too. Exciting fun-filled experiences in Universal Studios and the SeaWorld Theme Park were amazing.
